Yeah, the patch that's supposed to fix that may break printing (haven't seen any issues so far), but seems to work.

WSUS 3.2 cannot sync or distribute ESDs, and WS12/R2 can only do so if both KB3095113 and KB3159706 are installed on the machine, and all necessary post-install steps from KB3159706 have been followed.

As folks have noted, these post-install steps [and the general way that this update was released] caused unnecessary pain and confusion.

In the meantime, clients may experience some delay in getting the monthly content, but they will eventually download it.

The workaround here is to simply wait longer than usual, or to scan directly against Windows Update if you've waited several days and haven't seen any download success in that time.3.

Is there any way to force re download and reinstall failed updates on PCs from the server or any other way remotely and centrally or sort this issue in any other way?

Also is there any way to monitor windows update in real time on server side or any logs that would show what happens when PC connecting to WSUS for updates?

itprosetup Seems there is something to do with Cumulative Updates getting stuck.

I do have them checking for updates every hour from my WSUS server though, and to expedite the process I run a Power Shell script to force it to check & install after the script I'm installing apps manually (we're still in POC/demo mode). Updates#Download updates.$Session = New-Object -Com Object Microsoft. I can confirm that it's going against the correct wsus server.

Here's the script, which I didn't write, but don't have the link handy ATM. I've cloned my deployment task sequence with the only difference being that one is using the 1511 media and the other the 1607.

I've tried setting the GPO option here to bypass with the intent of making sure the box gets updates straight from WSUS and not from other clients. ... If ($Result.reboot Required) I don't know about this issue, just trying to assist.
